I know a lot of you think of BMW-owners as if they're all asshats. Which, as a proud '02 touring-owner, I obviously disagree of. F0und this interesting short documentary which explains the source of all those preconceptions. Probably. Wasn't aware of it. I'm sorry.

Didn't they bomb a bunch of US bases in the 1970s-1990s? Or was that the RAF?

RAF=Baader-Meinhof Gruppe. The 'Rote Armee Fraktion' (Red Army Faction) was founded by Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof amongst others, hence the name Baader-Meinhof Gruppe. Did quite some damage on both USAF & RAF-bases and personnel.

Let's put it this way, I now have a MINT 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLXi wagon, dead reliable.. I'd trade that for a shitty E28 520 in a heartbeat.

Because an E28 of any kind would cost more than my '97 lancer anyway :P I COULD sell one of my other cars (none of them run) but... Should I sell my '86 Datsun Cherry? My '59 Beetle? My '56 MB 190?

Well, that non-running '86 Datsun would have left my garage for a non-running E28 in a heartbeat. Not sure about the beetle and the Benz though, those are gems.
